Hifazat’s rally with four-point demand underway

Hifazat-e Islam Bangladesh has started a grand rally with four-point demands including the abolition of the Women’s Affairs Reform Commission.
The rally began at Suhrawardy Udyan at 9am on Saturday, presided over by the organisation’s Ameer Shah Muhibullah Babunagari.
The assembly will be addressed by top religious leaders and Islamic thinkers.
Earlier in the morning, the leaders and activists of the organisation from parts of the country began to converge at Suhrawardy Udyan. Several thousands of Hifazat supporters have gathered at the park meanwhile.
Hafez Ataullah, a Hifazat supporter from Dhaka’s Lalbagh, told bdnews24.com: "The Women's Affairs Reform Commission must be dissolved. Otherwise, we will go for a tougher programme."
Three other demands made by Hifazat are the abolition of proposed pluralism in the Constitution restoring the provision of complete trust and faith in Allah, the withdrawal of all cases filed against Hifazat leaders and activists and the prosecution of all massacres, including the one in the capital’s Shapla Chattar.
Hifazat activists also called on the interim government to play a role in "stopping the massacre and persecution of Muslims" in Palestine and India.
