Four players share lead in international rating chess tournament
Four players jointly lead the points table with 4.5 points each after the fifth round of Manha's Castle 29th International Rating Chess Tournament now being held at the Chess Federation hall room.
They are Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, Candidate Master S.M. Smoron, Muhtadi Tajwar Nashid, and Sarwar Hossain Ullash.
Twelve players jointly shared second place with four points.
They are FIDE Master Subrata Biswas, International Master Md. Minhaj Uddin, FIDE Master Mohammad Javed, FIDE Master Sheikh Nasir Ahmed, Siam Chowdhury, Candidate Master Md. Abu Hanif, FIDE Master Md. Sharif Hossain, Tashrik Saihan Shan, Oitijjya Barua, Candidate Master Md. Jamal Uddin, Candidate Master Md. Masum Hossain, and Candidate Master Mahtab Uddin Ahmed.
In the fifth round matches, FIDE Master Mahfuz Niloy split point with Candidate Master Smoron, Ullash split point with International Master Minhaj, Oitijjya split point with FIDE Master Nasir, and Siam split point with Candidate Master Masum, Nashid defeated Woman FIDE Master Noshin Anjum, FIDE Master Subrata defeated Abhijit Ghosh, FIDE Master Javed defeated Faisal Hossain, Candidate Master Hanif defeated Jinnat Akter Shahnaz, FIDE Master Sharif defeated Abdul Momin, Candidate Master Jamal defeated Prince Carol Chowdhury, Anisuzzaman Mallik drew with International Master Abu Sufian Shakil, Woman FIDE Master Nazrana Khan Eva split point with Candidate Master Sohel Chowdhury, Tahmidul Haque split point with Orham Omar, and Niloy Debnath split point with Woman International Master Wadifa Ahmed.
