Land Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP today directed the ministry's officials concerned to take necessary measures for making land services easier and faster for expatriate cardholders.

He gave the directives during a discussion with Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury, MP at his ministry office.

State Minister for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Md. Nurul Hoque, MP and Secretary Md Mokhtar Ahmed were present at the meeting, said a PID release.

During the discussion, the expatriates' welfare minister requested the land minister to extend cooperation in introducing priority services at land offices for expatriate cardholders and facilitating payment of land development tax (khajna) through expatriate debit cards. 

He also sought cooperation in completing name mutation, mutation and other land services within a short time, setting up expatriate corners or help desks at land offices, and giving priority to the execution of power of attorney deeds.

In reply, the land minister said the government is introducing the expatriate card as part of implementing its election pledges to ensure the social dignity of expatriates and provide them with various services.

He assured the expatriates' welfare minister that the Ministry of Land would extend all possible cooperation to ensure the proper implementation of all the services mentioned on a priority basis.

The land minister also directed the officials concerned to designate a focal point from the ministry to facilitate land services for expatriate cardholders.

Senior officials of the Ministry of Land and the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment were present.
