Four businesses fined Tk 50,000 in Gaibandha
A mobile court fined four business establishments Taka 50,000 at different places of Sadar upazila in Gaibandha for mixing banned substances into food under the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009 on Thursday night.
The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP), Gaibandha district administration and Special Response Battalion (SRB)-13 jointly initiated the mobile court, an SRB-13 press release said this afternoon.
During the operations, fines were imposed as follows: business establishment of Emdadul Haque Sarkar was fined Taka 10,000, Sajib Store Taka 5,000, business establishments of Md Imran Hasan Taka 25,000 and Kamrul Hasan Taka 10,000.
Furthermore, SRB-13's intelligence activities and ongoing operations will continue to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against offenses such as illegal hoarding, selling products at excessive prices, and food adulteration, the release added.
