This Time Not Behind the Camera
Hridoy Returns to Media with a Surprise Role as Producer
Known for his long journey as an assistant director in the television industry, Foyez Hridoy is stepping into a new and significant role — this time as a producer. His upcoming television drama “Purano Diner Prem” (Love of the Old Days) has already been completed and is now awaiting broadcast on a TV channel. However, the official telecast date has not yet been finalized.
The recently released poster of the drama reflects its emotional and nostalgic tone. The aesthetic blend of red and white, the symbolic rose, and the presence of two central characters hint that this is not just a love story — it is a narrative about memories, time, and emotions that never truly fade.
The drama is written and directed by Babu Siddiqui. The cast includes Babu Siddiqui, Maya Rahman, Tushar Bhuiyan, Sheikh Swapna, Ribbon, Maria, Nasir, Tushar, Zakir, and others. Cinematography is handled by Emon Israr, editing by Robin, with Saidur Rahman Riyad serving as assistant director. Costume design is by Maya Rahman, art direction by Preet Biswas, music by Pranto Ghosh, management by Faisal Dada, and production support from Bishwophul Media.
According to those involved with the project, “Purano Diner Prem” tells the story of a kind of love that does not change with time but remains alive as memory within people. The drama contrasts modern relationship complexities with the simplicity, emotional depth, and sincerity of love from earlier days.
Speaking about the project, producer Foyez Hridoy said: “I have always believed in story-driven content. My goal is to create dramas where audiences can see reflections of their own lives. ‘Purano Diner Prem’ is not just a romantic story — it is a story of emotions and memories. Even though this is one of my early works as a producer, I made sure not to compromise on quality. In Sha Allah, viewers will find something meaningful here.”
When asked why he moved from assistant direction to production, he added: “For a long time, I wanted to work from within the core of storytelling — not just as part of the technical process, but from the conceptual stage to execution. This drama marks the beginning of that journey.”
Industry insiders believe Foyez Hridoy’s focus on story-oriented production could bring a refreshing change to television content. The poster has already started circulating on social media, generating curiosity among drama enthusiasts.
Although the broadcast date remains unannounced, “Purano Diner Prem” is gradually becoming a project that audiences are looking forward to. Foyez Hridoy’s transition from assistant director to producer signals a promising new chapter in his media career.
