Happy Birthday to Rozina
Celebrated Bangladeshi film actress Rozina continues to shine after more than four decades in the film industry. Her directorial debut film Fire Dekha was released on March 3, 2023. She has now revealed plans for her second film, tentatively titled “Ekhoni Shomoy” (“Now is the Time”). The story is being written by noted filmmaker and writer Chotku Ahmed. Rozina shared that the film will reflect contemporary life, blending themes of love, relationships, and social realities.
She expressed confidence in Chotku Ahmed’s storytelling abilities and noted that budgeting is currently the main consideration before production begins. If all goes as planned, shooting may start later this year. Today marks Rozina’s birthday. She said she celebrates the first moments of her birthday with her family, cutting a cake together at midnight. While she has some work commitments during the day, she plans to spend the evening at home. She also requested prayers for good health and the ability to continue offering meaningful films to audiences. Rozina began her career in the late 1970s and rose to fame after starring opposite Wasim in the 1978 hit film “Rajmahal”, directed by F Kabir Chowdhury.
She went on to win her first National Film Award for her performance in “Koshai”, directed by Amjad Hossain. She later earned further accolades for her roles in “Jibondhara” and “Dinkal”. After a long break following her role in “Rakkhushi”, Rozina returned to acting in her own film Fire Dekha, marking a significant comeback in her career.
