Jui and Lotus Share a Frame

Popular Bangladeshi folk singer Israt Jahan Jui remains busy with stage performances throughout the year, both at home and abroad. Alongside her music career, she has also completed her studies. Jui shares a close relationship with dancer Jannatul Ferdous Lotus. 

September 29 was Lotus’s birthday, and Jui marked the occasion by posting a photograph with her and offering her birthday wishes and prayers. Lotus hails from Jamalpur. Her parents are Akbar Ali and Afroza Begum. She completed her education in Jamalpur and later earned an honours degree in economics. For the past seven years, Lotus has been working as a dancer at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka, where she currently serves as a junior dancer. 

She regularly participates in dance programmes and special productions organised by the academy. Known for her warm smile and humble personality, Lotus also once practised recitation, although she no longer finds enough time and opportunity to pursue it. On October 30, she will complete seven years of her professional journey at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. 

Lotus is married to Mohammad Imran Sheikh, a singer who is also involved in business. Her favourite dancers include Shamim Ara Nipa and Shibli Mohammad. Lotus began her dance training under Hafizur Rahman Ripon in Jamalpur and later received training in Dhaka from Mohammad Wasek. “ I am sincerely grateful to everyone who wished me on my birthday, and especially to Jui Apa,” Lotus said. 

“As a dancer at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, I want to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to me with complete honesty and dedication. I seek everyone’s prayers and love.” Jui said, “Lotus is a very sweet girl. Her smile fills the heart with joy. I pray for her happiness and success.”
