Man arrested with 880 yaba tablets in Charghat

A team of Special Response Battalion (SRB) arrested an alleged drug dealer with 880 yaba tablets from the Charghat Thana area of the district early today.

According to SRB sources, the arrestee was identified as Al Helal, 32, son of Ruhul Amin of Moktarpur village under Charghat Upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, an operational team of SRB-5 Sadar Company conducted a drive at the house of Al Helal at 3:40 am and arrested him along with 880 yaba tablets hidden behind a TV hanging on the wall.

During preliminary interrogation, the accused admitted that he had been collecting illegal narcotic yaba tablets through various means for a long time and buying and selling them in the area. He also admitted that he had kept the tablets in his custody for sale, the SRB said.

A case has been filed against the accused with Charghat Police Station.
