National wrestling referees’ training begins in Dhaka
A three-day National Wrestling Referees' Training Course has begun at the National Stadium here today (Friday) to improve the standard of refereeing in the country.
A total of 36 participants, including 27 men and nine women, are taking part in the course. They include representatives from different districts and organisations, as well as former and current senior wrestlers.
The course is being held at the meeting room of the Dhaka Metropolitan Football League Committee at the National Stadium.
National Sports Award-winning athlete and coach Haji Ashraf Ali, Tamzid Rahman, Mizanur Rahman of Bangladesh Police and Mizanur Rahman of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) are serving as course directors.
The opening day featured theoretical classes on various technical aspects of wrestling.
Bangladesh Amateur Wrestling Federation President Major General A S M Ridwan Rahman attended the opening ceremony of the event.
Federation's senior vice-president Hasanuzzaman Bablu, general secretary M R Ali Fahim, joint secretary A K M Abdul Mobin and treasurer Masud Akhtar Mobaraki were also present, among others.
