Neer Finishes Fifth at Ivan Memorial GM Chess Tournament
International Master Manon Reja Neer finished fifth position in the Farago Ivan Memorial 2026 Grandmasters Chess Tournament held in Budapest, Hungary.
He collected five points from nine games and his place was decided after a tie breaking system.
In the ninth and final round held on Friday last, IM Neer defeated Hungarian Grandmaster Horvath Adam.
Earlier, in the eighth round, he split point with Belgian Grandmaster Glek Igor.
Netherlands' International Master Han Yichen emerged champion with 6.5 points while Serbian Grandmaster Robert Markus finished as the runner-up in the meet.
The tournament was organised in a round-robin league format, featuring players from Bangladesh, Belgium, Hungary, India, Chinese Taipei, the Netherlands, Serbia, and the United States. The event included three Grandmasters, five International Masters and two FIDE Masters.
