One arrested with ganja in Gangachara, Rangpur

The Special Response Battalion (SRB)-13 in an anti-drug drive arrested an alleged drug dealer with 1.4 kg of ganja from village Purbo Mohipur under Gangachara model police station of Rangpur on Monday afternoon.

On a tip-off, an operational team of SRB-13's Crime Prevention Specialised Company (CPSC) from Rangpur arrested the alleged drug dealer with 1.4 kg of ganja from the village at 5:30 pm, a press release said this noon.

The detainee was identified as Md Shamsul Haque, 62, son of late Sohel Uddin from Latabor village under Kaliganj police station in Lalmonirhat district.

After filing a case against the arrested person under the Narcotics Control Act, 2018, the elite force handed him over, along with the seized ganja, to Gangachara model police station, the release added.
