RCMCH opens 20-bed dengue ward

A specialized 20-bed dengue ward has been inaugurated at Rangpur Community Medical College Hospital (RCMCH) to ensure advanced and specialized medical care for dengue patients.

Rangpur Divisional Director of Health (Acting) Dr Md Wazed Ali inaugurated the ward in a colorful ceremony held on the hospital premises as the chief guest on Monday afternoon.

Managing Director of Rangpur Group Nazmul Ahsan Sarkar presided over the ceremony, moderated by its Additional Director Mirajul Muhsin.

Speaking at the inauguration, chief guest Dr Md Wazed Ali said that although dengue is a mosquito-borne disease, complications can be largely controlled if timely and proper treatment and monitoring are ensured.

The launch of this dedicated 20-bed ward for dengue patients in Rangpur will make medical care services more organized.

"This specialized ward will facilitate rapid access to treatment while ensuring necessary medical care, monitoring, and nursing services for patients," he said.

Nazmul Ahsan Sarkar said that ensuring healthcare for the public is one of their key responsibilities.

Rangpur Community Medical College Hospital, a sister concern of Rangpur Group, is working with the aim of ensuring that financial constraints do not become a barrier to any patient's treatment.

A separate 20-bed ward has been opened for dengue patients so that they receive prompt and advanced medical care as needed.

"Various initiatives will continue in the future to further improve the quality of healthcare for the general public," he said.

Meanwhile, relatives of patients undergoing treatment in the dengue ward expressed satisfaction with the hospital environment and the services provided by the doctors and nurses.

They remarked that the existence of a dedicated dengue ward has instilled confidence among the families regarding the treatment and monitoring of the patients.

They are pleased that doctors and nurses regularly check on the patients.

A relative of a patient Abdur Rahman mentioned that they faced no difficulties in accessing treatment at the hospital.

Doctors and nurses regularly check on the patients and provide necessary advice.

"The treatment environment also appears favorable due to the separate ward for dengue patients," he said.

Deputy Managing Director of Rangpur Group Ashraful Alam Al Amin, Board Directors Major (Retd) Md Nasim Uddin, Md Moazzem Hossain Sarkar, and Mosharraf Hossain Dipti, Dr ABM Abu Hanif and Principal of Rangpur Community Medical College Dr Shariful Islam were present at the event.
