Bangladesh women draw 3-3 with Kazakhstan

Bangladesh earned their first point in women's hockey at the Asian Games after battling Kazakhstan to a 3-3 draw in their Pool A match here on Friday.

Bangladesh took an early lead through Irin, who converted a penalty corner in the second minute, and held the advantage through the opening quarter.

Kazakhstan levelled in the second quarter before scoring twice in the third to take a 3-1 lead.

Bangladesh fought back as Kona Akter pulled one goal back before Arpita Paul converted a penalty corner in the 47th minute to secure a point for the Bangladesh side.

Bangladesh earlier lost to China, South Korea and Malaysia in their first three matches.

They remain at the bottom of Pool A with one point from four matches and will face Chinese Taipei in their final game.
