Beautician found dead in Khulna

Police recovered the hanging body of a beautician named Moni Khan from a house in Karimnagar Mosque Lane in Khulna city on Wednesday afternoon.

Moni was the wife of Hossain Rashid Khan and worked as a beautician.

According to police and local residents, Moni had kept the door of her room locked since Tuesday. As family members found the door locked for a prolonged period, they contacted the National Emergency Service 999.

Police later broke open the door around noon and found Moni hanging inside the room. She was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Sonadanga Police Station Md Rafiqul Islam said Moni was a tenant of Azadul Haque in Karimnagar Mosque Lane.

He said police initially suspected that she might have taken her own life following a family dispute.
