DNCRP fines four businesses in Ctg
Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection, in a raid, fined four business establishments a total of Taka 221,000 in the Bahaddarhat area of Chattogram city on Sunday afternoon, over various irregularities.
The drive was led by Md. Faiz Ullah, deputy director of the directorate's Chattogram office. M R Consumer Products received the largest fine Taka 200,000 for producing counterfeit ghee.
The remaining three establishments were fined for failing to display price ists and not properly maintaining purchase and sales vouchers.
In the drive, Arif-er Fol Bitan was fined Taka 1,000, Parvin Traders Taka 10,000 and an LPG cylinder sales outlet Taka 10,000.
Md. Faiz Ullah said such drives will continue in order to protect consumers'
interests and ensure product quality in the market.
