EC Holds Meeting to Review Preparations for Upcoming Election

The Election Commission (EC) today convened a crucial meeting to review the latest status of preparations for the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and the national referendum. The meeting began at 11 am at the EC headquarters in Agargaon with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin in the chair. Four election commissioners and senior officials of the EC Secretariat attended the meeting, which is the tenth meeting of the current Election Commission.

According to EC sources, the session is expected to finalize decisions regarding both pre-schedule and post-schedule activities for the national election. The agenda includes reviewing legal and procedural aspects of election management, assessing preparations for the referendum, and evaluating communication, coordination, and field-level operations. The EC also discussed the registration status of political parties, reviewed the application process for national identity card corrections, and worked toward determining a standard operating procedure (SOP).

Additionally, the meeting examined feedback and recommendations from field officials based on experiences from the centre management and mock vote conducted on November 29. The EC is expected to make necessary decisions to enhance efficiency and resolve operational challenges ahead of the election.
