Feni BNP to accord grand reception to PM during Oct 1 visit

Feni district BNP held a meeting here today as part of its preparation to accord a grand reception to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman during his visit to Feni on October 1.

Forest, Environment and Climate Change Minister and BNP Vice Chairman Abdul Awal Mintoo attended the meeting as the chief guest.

Addressing the meeting, Mintoo said, “We will accord a reception to the Prime Minister on October 1. We have a slogan: ‘Khaleda is Feni’s daughter, our pride is unique.’ We are proud of him (Tarique Raman), as he is the son of our leader. Besides, he is our Prime Minister and chairman of the party. We will organize a large gathering to accord him reception.”

He further said, “The people of Feni have longstanding demands. Particularly, we will raise issues including the establishment of a medical college, a public university and the construction of the Muchapur Closure along with other demands.”

“We hope he will listen to our demands and gradually fulfill them,” he hoped.

District BNP Convener Sheikh Farid Bahar presided over the meeting while its Member Secretary Alal Uddin Alal moderated it.

Among others, adviser to the BNP chairman Prof Zainal Abedin,MP, chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Munsi Rafiqul Alam Majnu, MP, Rehana Akter Ranu, MP (reserved women’s seat) and BNP Central Joint Secretary Belal Ahmed and National Committee member Abu Taleb attended the meeting.
