Mohila Dal pays tribute to Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia

The Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal, the women’s wing of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), on Wednesday paid tribute to the party’s founder, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia by placing floral wreaths at their graves on the occasion of the organisation’s 48th founding anniversary.

The programme was held on Wednesday morning, September 9, at the grave of Ziaur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital. Leaders and activists of the Mohila Dal placed floral wreaths and observed prayers seeking the eternal peace of the departed leaders.

BNP Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi attended the programme as the chief guest. The event was chaired by Afroza Abbas, President of the central committee of the Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal, while the organisation’s General Secretary Sultana Ahmed conducted the programme.

A large number of leaders and activists from the central and metropolitan units of the Mohila Dal were present at the event. The programme also recalled the political legacy of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and the democratic movement led by former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

The Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal was founded on September 9, 1978, under the leadership of then President Ziaur Rahman. The organisation is observing its 48th founding anniversary this year.
