Legal Aid settles 1,73,136 cases through ADR
A total of 173,136 cases have been resolved through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) at Legal Aid office under the National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO). This information was revealed in a report published on the NLASO website. The report also highlighted detailed information on the legal assistance provided by the legal aid programme from 2009 until October 2025.
The report said that during this period, initiatives have been taken for ADR in a total of 195,470 cases. Out of these, the cases of 337,671 beneficiaries have been settled. According to the report, legal services were provided to 1,330,161 people at government expense during the same period. The highest court, the High Court and the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, all the lower courts and labor courts of the country, and indigent prisoners in prisons were also covered under this service. These services are provided at government expense under the 'Legal Aid Act' with the aim of assisting financially indigent and legally incompetent people seeking justice in the country.
The activities of the National Legal Aid Organization are carried out under the Law and Justice Department of the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs.
