The ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her party's deputy and former Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and 31 others have been charge-sheeted in a case lodged over the killing of truck driver Hossain during July Mass Uprising. Police on November 23 filed a charge sheet with Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court. Investigation Officer (IO) and Mohammadpur Police Station Sub-Inspector Akramuzzaman brought charges under sections 302/34,143/147/148/149/109/120-kha/324/326/327/114 of the penal code.

The other prominent accused in the case are-- former Foreign Affairs Minister Hasan Mahmud and former Textiles and Jute Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak, former state minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, former lawmaker Sadek Khan, president and general secretary now banned Bangladesh Chhatra League, Saddam Hossain and Sheikh Wali Asif Enan. According to the case documents, Md Hossain, 25, parked his truck in Gabtoli on July 19, 2024, and was going to his house as a nationwide curfew was imposed at the time.
