Tarique Rahman Says He Has a Plan for the People
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today said he has a plan for the people of the country to build a prosperous and safe Bangladesh, seeking cooperation from all to translate his dreamed plan into reality. “I have a plan for the people of my country and for the country,” he told a mammoth jubilant crowd gathered at the July 36 Expressway in the capital to welcome him on his historic homecoming after a long 17 years in exile in the UK.
Referring to the famous quote of American civil rights activist Martin Luther King, “I have a dream”, he said, “Martin Luther King — have you heard the name? Martin Luther King has a famous dialogue: ‘I have a dream.’ Today, standing on the soil of Bangladesh, before all of you, I want to say this: I have a plan for the people of my country and for my country.”
“Today, this plan is for the interest of the people, for the development of the country, for changing the destiny of the people of this country,” he said. Tarique Rahman sought people’s cooperation to realize his plan to change the fortune of the countrymen. “If that plan, that course of action, that vision is to be implemented, dear brothers and sisters, from this sea of people present here today, and from all those across Bangladesh who represent the strength of democracy, I will need the cooperation of every single person. Every single person’s cooperation is needed,” he said.
