Tk 77 lakh distributed among road accident victims’ families in B’baria

Families of road accident victims in Brahmanbaria have received Tk 77 lakh in financial assistance from the Trustee Board of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).

Seventeen families received compensation cheques at a function held at the Deputy Commissioner's office here on Monday afternoon.

Deputy Commissioner Md Abusayeed handed over the cheques as the chief guest.

Of the beneficiaries, 14 families of people killed in road accidents received Tk 5 lakh each, while two seriously injured persons received Tk 3 lakh each and another injured person received Tk 1 lakh.

Assistant Director (Engineering) of the BRTA Brahmanbaria office Md Faruk Alam said that the BRTA Trustee Board.

He said the initiative provides some relief to the affected families during difficult times.
