Emphasizing discipline and human values as essential for overcoming global challenges and advancing the nation, Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman stated that national  development is not possible without humane and good people. He made these remarks on Saturday (July 19) while speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the 3rd International Conference onরফ "Mechanical Engineering and Applied Science" held at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) in Mirpur Cantonment.

He said, “If discipline is maintained, the nation will benefit. Engineering education is immensely important for development.” On the occasion, he also presented awards to five individuals in five categories. The three-day conference featured discussions on artificial intelligence, renewable energy, manufacturing techniques, thermal engineering, and space research. Renowned researchers and professionals from countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, China, Japan, and Bangladesh participated in the event.
