Anti-Terrorism Unit renamed Special Response Unit

Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of Bangladesh Police has been renamed the Special Response Unit (SRU) following government approval.

The Home Ministry recently approved the change in the name of the existing unit under the organizational structure of Bangladesh Police.

According to the government memorandum, the name change will take effect from the date the government order is endorsed by the Finance Division.

The order, signed by Home Ministry Deputy Secretary (Police-2, section) Tanvir-Al-Nasif, states that the change in name will not involve any alteration to the posts approved under the organizational structure of Bangladesh Police.

The order also stipulates that the conditions imposed by the Ministry of Public Administration must be duly followed in implementing the name change.

In addition, all relevant rules and regulations must be properly complied with.
