Bangladesh–Netherlands Sign MoU on G2G Cooperation in PPP Development


The Public Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) of Bangladesh and the Kingdom of the Netherlands today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Government-to-Government (G2G) cooperation to strengthen collaboration in Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiatives. The signing ceremony took place today at the PPPA office in Agargaon, Dhaka.

The MoU was signed on behalf of Bangladesh by Mr. Ashik Chowdhury, CEO, PPP Authority, while H.E. Mr. Joris van Bommel, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Bangladesh, signed on behalf of the Netherlands. 

Speaking at the ceremony, PPP CEO Ashik Chowdhury emphasized that PPP has become the most viable and strategic option for developing new infrastructure in Bangladesh. He noted that the MoU will pave the way for enhanced knowledge exchange, technical cooperation and investment facilitation, benefiting both countries and supporting Bangladesh’s long-term infrastructure and economic development goals.

H.E. Ambassador Joris van Bommel highlighted the Netherlands’ strong interest in partnering with Bangladesh through structured PPP frameworks, sharing global best practices and expertise to deliver sustainable and high-impact infrastructure projects. The MoU marks a significant step forward in deepening bilateral cooperation and reinforcing PPP as a key engine for inclusive growth and development in Bangladesh.
