Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan has said the extensive cleanliness drive in the capital Dhaka was completed in less than 12 hours with coordinated efforts. "Those who keep this city clean in exchange of their sweat are our silent heroes. Clean Dhaka in less than 12 hours - this is the power of work, this is the story of dedication. They are not in campaign, but their work is the face of the city. Deep respect to the real heroes of Eid ul-Azha," he said.  Asif Mahmud made the remarks in a post on his verified Facebook.

He wrote the extensive cleaning programme has been completed in less than 12 hours with the coordinated efforts of Dhaka North and South City Corporations." "This is not only a reflection of the efficiency and effectiveness, but also a real proof of the responsibility and timely steps of the local government dedicated to public welfare," Asif said  Earlier, Asif Mahmud participated in the cleaning programme of the two city corporations of Dhaka.  The adviser expressed love and gratitude for the tireless work of about 20,000 workers of the two city corporations and the sense of responsibility of the city dwellers. He thanked every cleaning heroes involved in the service programme and also talked about special food and incentives for them.

Asif Mahmud said on the eve of the Eid-ul-Azha celebrations, "May the joy of sacrifice be healthy, clean and environmental-friendly." "With the coordinated efforts of the local government ministry, city corporation, municipality and the people, we can keep the day of Eid clean as well," he said. On this day of sacrifice, the adviser said the responsibility of all does not end only with sacrifice, protecting the environment is also a great act of ebadat. "Let us all throw the waste of sacrificial animals in our respective areas at the designated place and create a clean environment. A clean Bangladesh is for all of us," he said.
