Fire at Gulistan Sundarban Square Market Brought Under Control

A fire that broke out at Sundarban Square Market in the capital's Gulistan area this morning has been brought under control. The fire, which started around 10:00 am on the fifth floor of the market, was brought under control by 11:12 am, according to Talha bin Zasim, media officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD).
Eleven FSCD units rushed to the scene immediately after the fire began and managed to contain the blaze after one hour and 12 minutes of intense efforts, he said. A drone was also deployed by the fire service to assess the situation and help extinguish the fire effectively. FSCD duty officer Rashed Bin Khalid confirmed that no casualties have been reported so far. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage could not be determined immediately, he added.
