How Many People Killed Bhola’s Sifat?
Mother Demand for a Fair Investigation into the Case
Yanur Begum, the mother of the deceased, has demanded a fair and impartial investigation into the murder case of Rizwan Amin Sifat in Rajapur, Bhola, alleging irregularities in the charge sheet. She also demanded an investigation into the allegations against the case’s investigating officer and appropriate action against him.
Yanur Begum made these demands in a written statement at a press conference held in Bhola on Friday (September 18). She is a resident of Ward No. 9 of Shyampur in Rajapur Union under Bhola Sadar Upazila.
In her written statement, Yanur Begum said that on the evening of December 24, 2025, her only son, Rizwan Amin Sifat, was hacked and stabbed to death. In connection with the incident, she filed a case as the complainant. The case named Hasib ur Rahman, Shakib, Rony, Mizanur Rahman Mithu, Monzil, Helal Uddin Hawladar, Rahim, Din Islam, Kamal Bahini, Riyaz Hawladar, Firoz, Sihab, Rajib, Nizam Uddin, Abu Taher, Mansura Begum Junu, Shikha Begum, Al Islam, and Zahid, along with several others, as accused.
She said that following the filing of the case, several accused, including Hasib, Shakib, and Rony, were arrested. Among them, Hasib, Shakib, and Rony are currently in jail. However, she alleged that several other accused in the case have not yet been arrested.
Yanur Begum alleged that the investigating officer of the case, Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Yousuf of the Bhola Detective Branch of Police, kept only three of the 19 accused named in the First Information Report (FIR) in the charge sheet and dropped the others.
She also alleged that the investigating officer removed several accused from the charge sheet in exchange for financial benefits. However, Yanur Begum did not present any documents or evidence in support of this allegation at the press conference.
She said that she does not want to harass any innocent person. However, she demanded that the actual perpetrators be identified through a fair investigation and brought under the law.
At the press conference, she demanded a re-examination of the investigation and charge sheet in the Sifat murder case, an impartial investigation into the accused named in the FIR, and legal action against those concerned if any irregularities are found in the investigation.
Regarding the matter, SI Md. Yousuf, the investigating officer of the case, said that the charge sheet in this case has not yet been prepared. The case is still under investigation. Only those involved in Sifat’s murder will be included in the charge sheet. We are investigating to ensure that no innocent person is included in the charge sheet.
Meanwhile, several individuals who were accused in the Sifat murder case claimed that Yanur Begum, Sifat’s mother, had accused several innocent people due to previous enmity and disputes. They claimed that those individuals were not involved in the incident.
