PM, Kuwait Crown Prince discuss stronger manpower, trade and investment ties

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah today discussed increasing manpower exports to Kuwait, expanding trade and investment and strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.

The two leaders held the meeting at the Kuwait Permanent Mission in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest, including increasing the export of Bangladeshi workers to Kuwait, expanding trade and investment and strengthening economic cooperation.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman recalled the longstanding friendly relations between Bangladesh and Kuwait, and highlighted the historic contributions of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia to developing the bilateral ties and expanding mutual cooperation.

He said the foundation of mutual respect, goodwill and cooperation built between the two countries since their time has continued to expand over the years.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to further deepen and broaden the historic relations for the mutual benefit of the peoples of Bangladesh and Kuwait.

The two leaders also discussed various regional and international issues and emphasized continued regular communication, cooperation and coordination on matters of mutual interest.

The Prime Minister stressed enhancing high-level contacts between the political leadership of the two countries and expanding cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, investment, manpower and other potential sectors.

Both leaders expressed their commitment to further strengthening the existing cooperation for the mutual benefit of the peoples of Bangladesh and Kuwait.
