Thai citizen stabbed to death on a ship in Ctg, accused sailor arrested


Police have arrested a sailor named Turakarn Burusik (35) in connection with the killing of a Thai national, Rafifong Klahan (30), during a clash between two sailors on a foreign ship anchored in the Bay of Bengal off the coast of Anwara coastal belt. The arrest took place following a raid by police from Patenga and Anwara police stations on the ship, MV KPP-01 (IMO 9021203), this afternoon. Turakarn Burusik, who is a Thai citizen, was arrested in relation to the incident. 

Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Junayet Chowdhury of Anwara police station stated that the police conducted a raid on the ship and arrested the accused sailor. A murder case was lodged with Anwara police station this morning by the ship authorities. The case details, a clash between two foreign sailors aboard the ship docked at Charlie Anchor Point on Tuesday night. During the altercation, Turakarn Burusik stabbed Rafifong, causing severe injuries. 

The fellow crew members rescued Rafifong and brought him to Chattogram Medical College Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries at midnight while receiving treatment.
