Workers’ Remittance Rises 20.9% to $3.27bn by August 3

Workers' remittance to Bangladesh grew by 20.9 percent year-on-year in the current fiscal year 2026-27 through August 3, reflecting the continued strong inflow of earnings from expatriate Bangladeshis.

According to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank, the country received US$3.265 billion in remittances during the period from July 1 to August 3, 2026, compared with US$2.698 billion in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

During the first three days of August alone, remittance inflows reached US$406 million, up by 84.4 percent from US$220 million received during the same period a year earlier.

On August 3, expatriate Bangladeshis sent US$133 million in remittances, according to the central bank data.
