World Post Day observed today
The 'World Post Day-2026' is being observed in the country as elsewhere in the world.
The theme of this years’ ‘World Post Day-2026’ is- 'Integrated Postal Network, Limitless Possibilities'.
The Department of Posts has undertaken various week-long programs across the country marking the day, said a press release here today.
A discussion was organized this morning at the Postal Building in Agargaon in the capital by the Department of Posts.
Secretary to the Posts and Telecommunications Division Bilkis Jahan Rimi attended the programme as the chief guest with Director General of the Department Kazi Asadul Islam in the chair.
Meanwhile, as part of the ‘World Post Day-2026’ program, regular postal services (excluding savings bank operations) are being provided today and tomorrow at offices of the Postal Department at all levels.
Alongside this, 'Postal Service Week' is being observed across the country from today till October 15.
To mark Postal Service Week, a special letter festival has been organized at Cox's Bazar Sea Beach.
In addition, letter festivals, philatelic exhibitions, and postal service fairs have been organized at various universities across the country.
The Department of Posts has said that the main objective of these programs is to deliver fast and affordable services to people's doorsteps by utilizing modern technology and an extensive network.
Currently, Bangladesh Post is working towards transforming itself into a modern, technology-driven, efficient, and people-friendly logistics service institution alongside traditional postal services.
