Minister for Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare Professor Dr A Z M Zahid Hossain has urged BNP leaders and workers to remain united, saying no one will be able to stand in their way in the next national or local government elections if they stay united.

He made the remarks as the chief guest at an exchange-of-views meeting with district BNP leaders at Nilphamari Circuit House this afternoon. Calling for party discipline, internal unity and winning public confidence, the minister said, "If we engage in mudslinging, the common people will not support us."

He said BNP is a party that moves forward with everyone and urged strengthening the organisation with people committed to its politics and ideology. He also called for giving leadership responsibilities to tested individuals who remain firm during difficult times.

Addressing the leaders and workers, Dr Zahid urged them to maintain patience, loyalty and respect for the leadership. He said BNP had bounced back with the support of dedicated leaders, workers and the people, stressing that no political struggle can be won without integrity and full loyalty to the leadership.

Engineer Shahrin Islam Chowdhury Tuhin, convener of the Association of Engineers Bangladesh, chaired the meeting. District BNP and affiliated organisation leaders attended the meeting.
