2 ticket black marketers held in Akhaura
Police have arrested two ticket black marketers along with 15 intercity train tickets in a raid at the Akhaura railway station area of the district on Monday evening.
The arrested are Hiron Mia, 43, son of late Nurul Islam of Charnarayanpur Village in Mogra Union, and Mojibar Mia, 45, son of late Sadu Mia of Baro Bazar area ofAkhaura.
On Tuesday, Akhaura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Samiuddin said in a press release, they were arrested from near the municipality Mukto Mancha adjacent to the railway station and kept in police custody.
The OC also said, “During interrogation, they admitted that they used to collect advance tickets online for sale through black market and sell them to passengers at an additional price. A case under the Special Powers Act has been filed with Akhaura Police Station against the two arrested and unidentified persons. Our campaign against them will continue.”
