37 underprivileged families receive financial aid in Dinajpur

A total of 37 poor and underprivileged families in Sadar upazila received financial assistance today under a special programme of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

Local lawmaker Jahangir Alam handed over the cheques to the beneficiaries at a programme held at Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium at 2.30 pm. The programme was organised by the Department of Social Services.

Each beneficiary family received a cheque for Taka 10,000.

Speaking as the chief guest, Jahangir Alam said the special financial assistance from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman would help the recipient families become economically self-reliant by investing the money in poultry rearing and agricultural activities.

Dinajpur Municipal BNP General Secretary Md Mahiyuddin Mondal Bakul, Dinajpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Director Md Mostafa Kamal Milan, and District BNP Sports Affairs Secretary Mohammad Ali Kachi, among others, were present.
