BGB Seizes Contraband at Sylhet Frontier

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized smuggled goods worth Taka One Crore 55 lakh and 96 thousand from the Sylhet and Sunamganj border areas this morning. Lieutenant Colonel Md. Nazmul Haque, commander of the Sylhet BGB-48 Battalion, confirmed the matter.
He said that acting on a tip-off, multiple special teams conducted drives in Pratappur, Tamabil, and Bisanakandi border areas and seized a large quantity of Indian sarees, various types of medicines, injections, gel, wine, and cows smuggled from India. No arrests were made during the raids, as the smugglers fled the scenes upon sensing the presence of BGB forces. The process of depositing the seized items with the Customs Office is currently underway.
