BNP Leader Shot Dead in Dhaka's Badda

Kamrul Ahsan Sadhan, Joint Secretary of the Gulshan Thana unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), was shot dead by assailants in the Gudaraghat area of Middle Badda in the capital on Sunday night (May 25).
The incident occurred near the house of former commissioner Kayum in Gudaraghat.
Critically injured, Kamrul Ahsan was rushed to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. Upon receiving the news, police from both Gulshan and Badda police stations responded to the scene.
Badda Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Saiful Islam confirmed the incident. However, neither the police nor the victim’s family could confirm the identities of the attackers or the motive behind the killing.
The body of Kamrul Ahsan has been kept at the morgue of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for autopsy, the Badda OC added.
Ismail Hossain, the husband of the victim’s niece, said Kamrul Ahsan was having tea at a roadside stall opposite the office of former commissioner Kayum on Road No. 4 in Gudaraghat. He was sitting there with a few others when two masked men suddenly approached and began firing indiscriminately. Kamrul Ahsan collapsed on the spot after being shot. The assailants fired blank shots while fleeing the scene.
