BPL Teams Get Ticket Revenue Cut

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) governing council has decided to share the ticket revenue with the franchises who have complied with player payment obligations last season.
The decision was taken during a BPL governing council meeting yesterday.
"Following a comprehensive review of financial statements and supporting payment documentation submitted by participating franchises, the Governing Council has agreed in principle to allocate a portion of ticket sales revenue to franchises that have demonstrated compliance with player payment obligations," the BCB said in a press release here today.
"This is the first time that the BCB will distribute revenue from ticket sales to BPL franchises," it said.
"The disbursement, scheduled ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, will be conditional upon the verification of payment acknowledgments from the respective players."
According to the press release, the BCB has allocated Taka 55 lakh each for the four teams that qualified for the playoffs while the remaining three teams would get Taka 45 lakh each.
"The final disbursement amount for each franchise will be determined proportionally, based on the percentage of outstanding player payments they have cleared relative to their eligible share," the release added.
