Bangladesh Army's Rangamati Region and Combined Military Hospital (CMH) jointly organized a free medical camp and medicine distribution programme at Rangamati Sadar Hospital today, providing healthcare services to more than 800 people.

Rangamati Sadar Zone Commander Lt Col Md Ekramul Rahat visited the daylong medical camp in the morning.

District Civil Surgeon Dr Nuyen Khisa, Rangamati Sadar Hospital's Resident Medical Officer Dr Shawkat Akbar and other army officials were present during the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Lt Col Ekramul Rahat said the Bangladesh Army, alongside its responsibility for maintaining law and order in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, has been working for the socioeconomic development and welfare of people from all communities living in the region, including both indigenous hill communities and Bengalis.

He said the Army's humanitarian activities would continue to promote communal harmony and support the wellbeing of the people in the hill region.

Around 800 patients suffering from various ailments received treatment at the daylong medical camp. Free medicines were also distributed among the beneficiaries.
