Implementation of govt’s election pledges begins: Dulu
Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu has said that the people of the country voted overwhelmingly for BNP with a desire to achieve development and prosperity and that they made the right decision. “The government has already adopted a 180-day action plan to fulfill the expectations of the people”, he said. The minister said this while responding to various queries from the journalists following a meeting with upazila-level officials and union parishad chairmen here on Friday afternoon.
He said, according to the party’s election pledges, implementation has begun on several initiatives including Family Cards, Farmer Cards and Health Cards, as well as canal excavation and tree-planting programs. The minister urged all to cooperate with the government in implementing these initiatives as the government aims to build a people-oriented and accountable public administration.
To achieve this, he emphasized that government officials must be public-friendly, sincere, honest and dedicated in their duties, he said adding that tasks should not be delayed and stressed the importance of maintaining punctuality by arriving at offices on time. Earlier, the minister visited Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital and expressed the hope that the newly constructed 250-bed hospital would be operational soon.
