Jamalpur holds preparatory meeting ahead of Durga Puja

A preparatory meeting on Durga Puja was held in the conference room of Deputy Commissioner's office today.

Lawmaker Advocate Shah Md Wares Ali Mamun was present at the meeting as the chief guest with Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Yusuf Ali in the chair.

Speakers at the meeting said the Hindu community has long been celebrating Durga Puja in the district with communal harmony.

They expressed optimism that the upcoming festival would also be observed peacefully, thanks to the prevailing atmosphere of religious tolerance and cooperation in the district.

The deputy commissioner assured that all necessary measures would be taken to ensure a peaceful and festive celebration.

Four tires of security will also be enforced in the Puja Mandop areas, the DC informed the meeting.
