Misleading campaign against Ansar for staying in Restricted area & obstructing duties at Airport

Confusion has been created over a video and caption published in various media and social media regarding the disrespectful behavior of a visitor with Ansar members while on duty in the Canopy-2 area of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and later taking him inside the arrival gate. The video titled “Bad behavior with Ansar members, visitor dragged inside the terminal” was circulated on the matter.

The true facts of the incident were immediately investigated by the intelligence wing of the force with public importance in mind. The true facts of the incident are known in detail, that on September 1, 2026, a relative of a passenger was staying in the restricted area near the arrival gate in the Canopy-2 area of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Since the presence of ordinary passengers or relatives in that area was prohibited in the interest of maintaining security and order at the airport, the Ansar members on duty requested and instructed him several times to leave the place.

However, the person concerned continued to remain in the restricted area, ignoring the security instructions, and kept peeking inside the arrival gate. At one point, when the Ansar members on duty asked him to leave again, he joked, made obscene comments, abused and behaved disrespectfully with the members on duty.

When the incident came to the attention of an AVSEC corporal on duty, he arrived at the scene and ordered the person concerned not to remain in the restricted area. During this time, the situation became heated when the corporal had an argument with the person. Later, the AVSEC corporal ordered the Ansar members on duty to take the person concerned to a designated place inside the arrival gate.

According to the information received, the Ansar members performed the duty of taking the person concerned inside the arrival gate as per the instructions of the AVSEC authorities. The necessary legal and administrative proceedings against him were completed by the concerned authorities.

It is worth noting that maintaining security rules and prescribed entry restrictions in an important and sensitive facility like an airport is a regular part of the security personnel's duties. If a person is found in a restricted area while on duty, it is a normal process of security management to remove him from there and hand him over to the concerned authorities as needed. The Ansar members did not take any punitive action on their own initiative in this incident; rather, they performed their duty by taking the concerned person to the designated place as per the instructions of the responsible AVSEC officer.

If the incident is presented differently through short videos or one-sided captions published in various media and social media, there is a risk of confusion in the public mind about the actual incident. Ansar and Village Defense Forces follow security rules, discipline and the instructions of the concerned authorities in performing their duties. All concerned are urged to present real information considering the full context of the incident rather than evaluating the activities of members on duty at important facilities like airports based on isolated videos or incomplete information.
