One Held in Gazipur Pornography Case

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested the main accused in an attempted rape and pornography case filed in Thakurgaon from the Signboard Narayanpur area under Kapasia Police Station of Gazipur on Saturday evening. The arrestee was identified as Md Mansur Alam, 40, of Surya Narayanpur village under Kapasia Police Station of Gazipur, according to a press release issued this afternoon.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of RAB-13 from Dinajpur Camp and RAB-1 from Gazipur Camp conducted a raid and arrested the accused Mansur Alam from the Signboard Narayanpur area of Gazipur at 7:15pm on Saturday. The arrested accused was handed over to Dinajpur Sadar Police Station for further legal action.

According to the case statement, the accused used to visit the victim's house frequently and made indecent proposals to her at different times. However, she did not agree to the proposals. As a result, the accused prepared a fake marriage registration certificate with the intention of blackmailing the victim. Later, the accused took the victim to a hotel in Thakurgaon town by deception, attempted to rape her forcibly and recorded obscene pictures and videos on his mobile phone.

He threatened the victim that he would force her to marry him after divorcing her husband. However, she did not agree to do so. The accused later sent the pictures and videos to the mobile phones of the victim's husband and several people in her local area. Later, the victim filed an attempted rape and pornography case against the accused at Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station on May 19, 2025.
