One Held with 50 Bottles of Eskuf Syrup, Motorcycle in Jashore
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested an alleged smuggler and
seized 50 bottles of Indian Eskuf syrup and a motorcycle during an anti-smuggling drive in the
Sharsha border area of Jashore.
The arrestee was identified as Md Shahidul Islam, 50, a resident of Rudrapur village in Sharsha
upazila.
A team from Kayba Border Outpost (BOP) conducted the drive as part of BGB's ongoing anti-
smuggling campaign and arrested Shahidul, according to a BGB press release issued today.
The team also seized the 50 bottles of Indian Eskuf syrup and the motorcycle from his
possession, the release said.
Khulna Battalion (21 BGB) Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Md Nafiz Imtiaz Ahsan said the
force has intensified intelligence surveillance and border patrols to curb smuggling and drug
trafficking.
