Paddy cutting with combine harvester held in Sreepur

Organized by the Sreepur Upazila Administration and Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), the harvesting of Boro paddy (BRRI Dhan-92) with combine harvester through synchronized cultivation in the Robi season in the fiscal year 2024-25 was held in Karnapur Village of Gosinga Union in the upazila on Monday afternoon.

Sreepur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Barrister Sajeeb Ahmed chaired the event, while Gazipur DAE District Training Officer Agriculturist Md Nurul Islam, Sreepur DAE Welcome Officer Agriculturist Sumaiya Sultana, Gazipur Agriculture Extension Officer Agriculturist Afroza, Sub-Assistant Agricultural Officer Badal Mia and local farmers and people of various classes and professions were present.

According to local agricultural office sources, in order to increase farmer productivity and make agriculture more modern, profitable and sustainable by incorporating technology into labor-intensive agricultural activities, Boro paddy Ufshi variety (BRRI Dhan-92) was cultivated on 50 acres of land under the synchronized cultivation in Chupair block demonstration under the agricultural incentive programme in the Robi season for the 2024-25 fiscal year. The paddy was harvested simultaneously through a combine harvester on Tuesday.
