Physician donates Tk 10 lakh to Magura Hospital
In order to take the medical services one step further and complete the unfinished work of Dr Lutfar Rahman Diabetes Hospital and Magura Diabetes Association, located beside the Nabaganga River in Parnanduali of the district, Dr Simin A Majid Anju, the worthy daughter of former minister Major General M Majidul Haque, donated Tk 10 lakh to the hospital.
While presenting the cheque, Dr Simin A Majid Anju said, “You all know my father. He had many more dreams about Magura, many of which we may not know, but still I am his daughter and I will try to fulfill that unfinished dream of my father.”
Magura Deputy Commissioner Md Ohidul Islam was present as the chief guest at the event. He said, “We need some money to fully launch Dr Lutfar Rahman Diabetes Hospital. You know that Dr Simin A Majid Anju has contributed Tk 10 lakh in the name of her father.”
He also said, “There is a proper system of a 25-bed hospital here with a beautiful operation theater and cabins in a beautiful environment. If we arrange for doctors of various disciplines to see patients here, then Dr Lutfar Rahman Diabetic Hospital will be the best hospital in Magura Town. That is why we seek your cooperation.”
Among the other physicians of the Magura 250-bed Hospital, Dr Mehedi Hasan, Dr Debashish Biswas, Dr Arifuzzaman and others were present.
At that time, Magura Civil Surgeon Dr Shamim Kabir said, “People are doing business by opening small clinics in different alleys of Magura Town, but Dr Lutfar Rahman Diabetes Hospital is a state-of-the-art hospital. If a little cooperation is provided here, this hospital can be the cleanest and most modern hospital in Magura Town.”
