PM Chairs Special Cabinet Meeting at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban

A special cabinet meeting is underway with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in the chair to approve the proposed national budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year. The meeting began at 10:00 am at the cabinet room in the Sangsad Bhaban here, said Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony. 

As per the tradition, the special cabinet meeting is held prior to placing the national budget in the Jatiya Sangsad. The cabinet formally approves the budget proposal at the meeting. After the meeting, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to join the JS sitting at 3:00pm along with Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury. Later, the finance minister will place the national budget for FY27 in the Jatiya Sanghsad.
