PM to exchange greetings with people from all strata on Eid Day
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will exchange Eid greetings with people from all walks of life, including foreign diplomats and educationists, on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr. The greeting exchange programme will be held at the state guest house Jamuna here at 10:00 am on the Eid Day, Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman said. He said the Prime Minister will first offer Eid prayers at the National Eidgah and then proceed to Jamuna to exchange greetings with diplomats.
Later, Tarique Rahman will exchange Eid greetings with cabinet members, members of parliament, distinguished citizens, academicians, ulema and mashaikh, artists and writers, and senior government and private officials, as well as people from all sections of society. After the programme, the Prime Minister along with his family members will offer ziarat at the graves of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the city. This will be Tarique Rahman’s first Eid celebration in the country after more than one and a half decades. He celebrated Eid in London for the last 17 years.
Tarique Rahman returned to Bangladesh with his family on December 25 last year and assumed office as Prime Minister after being elected in the 13th national election on February 12 this year.
