RCC administrator urges city residents to stay vigilant against dengue

Calling upon city dwellers to remain vigilant to prevent dengue, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton today said the City Corporation alone cannot prevent the spread of dengue and that city dwellers must also be aware and responsible.

“Keep your houses and surrounding areas clean. Everyone must be careful so that water does not accumulate in discarded tyres, coconut shells and other objects, creating breeding grounds for mosquitoes,” he said.

He made the call while laying the foundation stone for the construction of a uni-block road and concrete drain inside the Dingadoba Catholic Cemetery in the city today.

Under the project, a uni-block road and concrete drain will be constructed inside the cemetery, along with earth-filling work and the construction of a shed.

The RCC Administrator said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman had entrusted him with the responsibility of serving city dwellers and that the City Corporation was working tirelessly to implement the Prime Minister’s directives.

“We are working to develop religious institutions in the city and enhance civic amenities. As part of this ongoing effort, development work inside the Dingadoba Catholic Cemetery has started,” he said.

The Administrator instructed the concerned officials to ensure the quality of the work and complete it within the stipulated time.

RCC Superintending Engineers Khairul Baker and Ahmad Al-Moin Parag, Executive Engineers Mahmudur Rahman Emon and Nilufer Yasmin, along with concerned engineers and local BNP leaders, were present.

 After laying the foundation stone, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton distributed dengue awareness leaflets among those present.
