Workers' remittance inflow into Bangladesh increased by 13.5 percent year-on-year during July 1 to September 29 of the current fiscal year (FY2026-27), reaching US$8.466 billion as of September 29, according to Bangladesh Bank data.

The country received US$7.462 billion in remittances during the corresponding period of FY2025-26.

In September alone, remittance inflow stood at US$2.641 billion during September 1-29, compared with US$2.562 billion in the same period of September 2025, marking a 3.1 percent increase.

On September 29, expatriate Bangladeshis sent home US$109 million in remittances, the central bank data showed.

The sustained growth in remittance inflows has been contributing to strengthening Bangladesh's external sector position, including supporting foreign exchange liquidity and reserves.
